About our studio

The front of the Linocoln BuildingFor more than 15 years, our studio has used traditional, Classical Pilates to change how our clients live and feel. We’re formerly known as Dulak Pilates Center and became Living Legacy Pilates in July 2018.

Joseph Pilates was born in Germany and developed his exercise method called “Contrology” as a way to help himself overcome childhood illnesses. His work is based on flexing and stretching the muscles with control.

Joseph passed his tradition on to his world-renowned protégé, Romana Kryzanowska, who trained our resident master instructor, Janice Dulak. Janice has trained all our instructors through Romana’s Pilates, which celebrates and shares Joseph’s original vision.

About the exercise

Reformers in a Pilates studioPilates looks and feels different from other workouts.

Originally, Joseph’s exercises were only done on the mat where the only resistance is the body itself. However, because this is the most difficult work, Joseph created apparatus based on spring resistance which helps the student understand exactly which muscles to engage to create a movement.

We will teach you the principles and concepts of Pilates to help you to live more fully in your body. Whatever your goals are — whether you want to get stronger, gain flexibility, run faster, golf better, or just get around without pain — we’ll help you move better, with ease, efficiency and power.
